Elena Davies is an associate with the firm Engel & Associates. Elena received her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa in 2010, focusing her studies in the area of criminal law. Elena began her Common Law degree at the University of Ottawa having received the Professional Training Scholarship. During her legal studies she also won the Justice Gilles Létourneau and Col. Michel Drapeau Prize for the highest mark in Canadian Military Law.
In 2010, Elena was selected to compete on behalf of the University of Ottawa in the Arnup Cup, an annual provincial criminal trial advocacy competition. After placing second in Ontario, she competed at the Sopinka Cup, the national criminal trial advocacy competition finals. Prior to law school, she received her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Law from Carleton University in 2007 with Highest Honours. Upon receiving this degree, Elena was awarded the University Senate Medal for outstanding academic achievement.
Elena began with the firm in 2005 while completing a co-op placement. Elena summered with the firm each year after that until she completed her articles with the firm. In 2011, Elena was called to the bar and officially joined the firm as an associate.
