TAMARA BUBIS

Tamara is an Associate Lawyer at Engel & Associates, with a primary focus on criminal law and correctional law.

Tamara graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2012, earning a Bachelor of Arts (Hons). She then went on to complete her legal studies at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, graduating in 2015. Following her call to the bar in Ontario, Tamara worked for one year at the Immigration and Refugee Tribunal in Toronto and briefly for a boutique criminal defence firm out of Kingston, Ontario.

Tamara works with senior counsel on a wide variety of criminal matters, including sexual assault, fraud, impaired driving, and drug-related offences.

Tamara has particular interest in assisting clients with parole related matters and frequently appears before the Parole Board. In addition, she assists clients who have been found Not Criminally Responsible or unfit before the Ontario Review Board.

Tamara is a member of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa and the Criminal Lawyers Association of Ontario.
